Red and White and Gouache with Wendy Cowley and Sherry Springall
Have you ever written with gouache? It is the preferred medium for many calligraphers as you can mix your own colours without having to buy yet another bottle of ink. We will be providing you with some red and white gouache to try it out. Why red and white? Because our exhibition theme for 2107 is True North Strong as we celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday! Gouache will be supplied.
Further details of the program are on the meeting page.

Join us for our November 23 meeting
Please join our society for our sweetest fundraiser of the year on
November 23, 2016 at 7:30.
(To be held after the AGM)
Please consider making/baking something for the sale. Think
“Christmas”. Cookies and bars, preserves, tarts, spiced nuts –
whatever gets your taste buds tingling.
Please bring your goodies wrapped and packaged in suitable sizes
ready for sale complete with price tags. (Pricing – not too high and
not too low – what you think is right.)
Please label your baking if it contains nuts for those who may have
allergies.
When you arrive at the meeting just place your baking on the sale
tables.
Folllowing the Bake Sale, Wendy Cowley will be sharing some of the envelopes she has received through participation in envelope exchanges and sharing some tips on doing envelopes. We’ll conclude the evening by addressing an envelope. This program is perfect for beginners.
Join us for our October 26 meeting – Introduction to Neuland
Join us for our September 28 meeting – Texture upon Watercolour
Join us as Catherine Cooper shares her technique of using layerd watercolour papers and lettering to add framing, depth, texture and/or colour to a composition. You need to bring a sheet of painted watercolour paper. We will be cutting the paper into small pieces so it doesn’t have to be a picture just colour on the paper.
Join us for our June 22 meeting
Socializing is the focus of our June meeting! Everyone is asked to bring a small plate of goodies to share so we can eat while we visit! The library will be open from 7 to 7:30 so you can get some books to use over the summer months. Catherine Cooper will be demonstrating a watercolour technique. You’ll get the paper to do your own sheet over the summer. Yes, you still get homework over the summer. You need to bring your completed sheet back in September to be able to do the program acivity.
