Join us for our November 28 meeting

Our November meeting is Triple Barreled!!

  1. Well start off with our AGM. Since this is a non-election year the meeting should be very short.
  2. It will be followed by our annual bake sale. Members who like to bake bring goodies, already packaged and priced for the sale. Everybody gets to buy what looks good to them! Generally it takes only about 15 minutes for all the goodies to be snapped up, so you have to look around prior to the AGM and plan your shopping strategy.
  3. We have an exciting program planned on The Krafty Envelope.Come join us as Rose shares postage tips, handy for the upcoming 2019 envelope exchange.Brigitte will be sharing her technique for using white gouache and brush pen on kraft envelopes and cards.

Join us for our October 24 Meeting

Join us for an evening of sharing in our Calligraphy Circle as we focus on Seattletters, the International Conference which was held in Bellingham this summer. Members who attended show and share the work that they did in class.

There will be a short video presentation of the conference and then members will be free to wander around the tables and view the work and talk to the partcipants.

If you have work you’d like an advice on please bring it along too even if it has no relation to Seattletters.

Join us for our April 25 Meeting.

Our first Calligraphy Circle will be held at our April 25/2018 meeting. Please join our CIRCLE of sharing, learning, helping and practicing calligraphy skills and techniques.
How Do You Do This?
Bring: A project of some sort to work on or not – your choice.
Questions: Be prepared to ask questions on how to do something that may not be working for you. Or ask someone who is working on a project “How do you do that?” “What tool are you using?”
Advice: Would you like some advice on how to fix your layout or choice of lettering,
ink, colour, etc?
Demo and Hands On Table
There will be some graphite and sumi ink supplies to try out. Do you have a new tool or supply you would like to share? Perhaps, you have something you bought ages ago and don’t really know how to use. Maybe somebody can give you some advice.

CALLIGRA-WEAVING with Rose Wong

Join Rose as she leads us through the process to make a woven joint exhibition piece on our Black and White Theme. We’ll be writing out the alphabet on strips of black, white or grey paper, so you need to bring both black and white writing mediums (ink, gel pens, felts). After we are dne, the strips will be woven together to form an exhbition piece to which we all have contributed! The paper strips will be provided. Thanks to posts by a Montreal group on Instagram for the inspiration.
